Why Bia Cultures?

At Bia Cultures, we prioritise sourcing local seasonal vegetables, striving for organic options whenever available.

Collaborating with nearby farmers, we aim to support the local economy and strengthen the food sovereignty of Ireland. By working with local produce, we not only ensure the freshness and quality of our ingredients but also reduce our environmental impact by minimising transportation distances.

Join us in our journey to celebrate local flavors while fostering community resilience, one jar of Bia Cultures' goodness at a time.

Our Ethos

Learning Cultures Through Food

At Bia Cultures, we see food as a gateway to understanding and appreciating diverse cultures. Through our fermented creations, we aim to share the rich culinary traditions of Ireland and beyond.

Irish Food Sovereignty

We're passionate about promoting food sovereignty in Ireland. By prioritising locally sourced ingredients and supporting Irish farmers and producers, we aim to contribute to a more resilient and self-sufficient food system. Our commitment to Irish food sovereignty extends beyond just ingredients; it's about nurturing a deeper connection to the land and its people.

Circular Mindset

Embracing a circular mindset is fundamental to our operations. We believe in minimizing waste and maximising resources throughout our production process.

Community

Community is the cornerstone of Bia Cultures. We're committed to building strong and inclusive communities around our shared love for fermented foods. Whether it's through farmer’s markets, events, or online platforms, we treasure every opportunity to connect with our customers and fellow food enthusiasts.

We have a WhatsApp group dedicated to purchasing fresh produce and goods collectively. We have set this group up in order to buy food and other commonly used goods directly from producers or from big retailers at a price that is fair to both parties. If this sounds like something you may be interested in please email us for further info and to be added to the group. This is strictly for nonprofit and intended to help us all afford quality produce and goods at a cheaper collective price.
